BARLAS_NEWBorn in Kozani in 1980, Achilleas Barlas is a graduate of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science of the University of Thessaly, where he specialized in Sports Organization and Management. In 2004, he received an MSc from the University of Wolverhampton in Sport and Recreation Administration/Management.

In 2013, he acquired a PhD from the University of Thessaly and the Democritus University of Thrace, delivering a thesis titled “The influence of professional satisfaction on the quality of services provided in sporting organizations: The role of empowerment and commitment”.

He is currently pursuing an MBA course at the University of Nicosia. He has published a total of 12 scientific papers in well-regarded journals and has worked as a manager for major sport organisations like ATHENS 2004 and LOCOG.

In 2007, he began working as a temporary teacher under the provisions of Presidential Decree 407/80 at the University of Thessaly. Since 2011, he has been working as an Administrator at the Pilion Ski Centre. In 2010, he became an associate of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit, teaching entrepreneurship courses at the University of Thessaly, while in 2013 he joined SEV’s business incubator in Volos, offering his services as an entrepreneurship coach and helping with organization of the hosting facility.
