Dimitris Nikas studied Production Engineering and Management at the Technical University of Crete (BA, 1990), and Business Administration at the IAE, University of Grenoble II (DEA, 1991), where he also worked as a postgraduate researcher in Financial Administration (1991-1994).
At the outset of his career, he was involved in importing innovative products into the French market. He then moved into the textile industry, working as a Financial Analyst focusing on the analysis of production costs and the evaluation of investment plans. He then took a position in the auto parts sector, as Financial Controller for Magnetti Marelli, Fiat Group, and then as CFO.
For the last 13 years, he has been working for Medtronic Hellas, which produces medical equipment and implants. He started out as Senior Finance and Administrative Manager, and in the last two years has been serving as Senior Business Unit Manager (Cardiac and Vascular).
