Alexandros Didaskalou is an award-winning industrial designer with specialist engineering knowledge and experience. He has studied industrial design at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig in Germany, the Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche in Rome, Italy, and has a MA in Design Products from the Royal College of Art, London, where he studied under Ron Arad. He is also preparing a PhD in the Architecture School of the Aristotle University οf Thessaloniki on “Product and system design for wheelchair users”.
Alexandros has contributed, through his knowledge and experience of industrial design and strategy, to various projects in association with important businesses and organizations, such as Intrasoft, Raycap, EBIK, SAS, Terra, OBI, Athens 2004, Diageo, ADG/Campingaz, Cosmote, Everest, Coca Cola Hellenic, Athens International Airport, Regency, Katselis, Resoul, Lanitis, Intracom, Coco-Mat and others.
His work has been shown at the Salone del Mobile, Milan, the RCA, London, the Biennale Saint Etienne, IDF – Hanover at Furnidec and other trade fairs. He has received first prizes and other awards in various international design competitions.
Since 2001, in addition to his professional career, he has been teaching Industrial Design and methods of innovation at various educational institutions and schools, including the Mechanical Engineering Dept. of the National Technical University of Athens, AKTO, AAStudies and the Furniture Design Technological Educational Institute in Karditsa. He has spoken on industrial design and strategy at many events, and is an academic associate of the Thessaloniki Design Museum.
He speaks English, German, Italian and Spanish, and has a diploma in Harmony from the Thessaloniki Conservatoire.
