The Business Ιdea
Inspired by nature, and using gaseous plasmas, materials are textured in the micro and nanoscale creating “smart” surfaces. The modification induced by plasma processing renders surfaces hydrophilic or superhydrophobic, with increased or negligible biomolecule or cell binding capacity (respectively), making them ideal as substrates for chemical and biological analysis. The team initially targets the market of consumables for diagnostic devices, such as microarrays, cell arrays, and microfluidics.
