Yiannis Sotiropoulos finished high school in Pagkrati in 1972, and entered the Athens University of Economics and Business, where he studied Business Organization and Administration.
From his first year at university, he worked with the shipping company Pateras Brothers Ltd, in Piraeus, and in 1977 joined the army to do his military service.
In 1980, he joined the company Rekor SA Dairy and Patisserie Products, holding a post in the Commercial Division. Until 1988, he was also Director of Sales (Greece) with the company Aligel SA, an importer of confectionery products, and Bingo SA, a wafer manufacturer.
From 1989 to 1995, he was Sales Manager for Chipita SA, and in 1996 joined the International Activities Division of the company, tasked with pursuing expansion on foreign markets.
Since 2001, he has been Regional Director Western Balkans at Chipita SA, responsible for eight different countries, and also assuming responsibility for two more countries in the Caucasus region over the last two years.
In more than thirty years of professional involvement, he has amassed a wealth of experience of the food sector outside the Greek market, in many countries of southern, central and eastern Europe. He has attended numerous conferences, has taught Sales Organization and Management at the Greek Centre for Productivity (ELKEPA) and Enterprise Greece Invest, and is a founding member of Junior Achievement Greece.
